- Always keep informed at least one friend or family member about daily position. Before start, send an SMS indicating position and time. It helps in case if we get stranded in a desolate patch, at least our friend knows where to start searching for you
- Carry loose change like ₹1 and 2 coins and 10s and 20s notes. It helps every time we stop for something on roadside.
- Carry some stickers, toys, biscuits, mementos, key-chains, to gift to kids on the way or at shops or people we meet on way. Great way to break ice and make friends.
- Carry a small pocket diary with couple of pens. This helps us to write down expenses, some town names en route, any additional information which we get on road and might forget. A pocket scribbling pad always helps.
